Nevertheless, it seems that Louis van Gaal may be willing to revisit his Galactico-like big spending policy come the summer.

van Gaal promised that he would spend money on the right defenders when they became available and it seems that Varane is the one for him.

With a £35 million bid in the pipeline and given the Frenchman is often a third choice selection after Pepe and Sergio Ramos at the Bernabeu, that will be something Real Madrid simply have to consider.
