Manchester City fans are looking up with interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as The Sun claim that the club are in for Iker Muniain.
The Spaniard only has a year left on his current deal with Athletic Bilbao and that of course casts doubt over the massive £40 million clause in his contract.
The Bilbao star has interested both Manchester City and Manuel Pellegrini for some time now – and it seems that given contract talks have stalled between the creative star and the Basque club, we think a move could be on the cards.
The 21-year-old has made it clear that he would consider a move, and would cost Manchester City around £15 million – small change compared to the money Bilbao could’ve gotten for the star once upon a time.
Manuel Pellegrini is considering a slight revamp of his squad this summer and is keen on bringing the youngster to England.
As one of our punters claim over a game of pool and a pint from our bar, Muniain may well attract a couple more clubs – but we think Pellegrini may well have the edge.
Will City boost their Spanish ranks and add Muniain to their riches next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
