Manchester City looking to beat La Liga giants to wonderkid

Etihad Stadium

The Football Transfer Tavern has been packed today as punters have enjoyed the feast of Saturday football action in the bar.

A group of Manchester City fans have taken residence near the back of the tavern and they have been left excited by reports from The Mirror that the club are looking to land the ‘next Sergio Aguero’.

City are ready to challenge Atletico Madrid in signing San Lorenzo’s 18-year-old wonderkid Angel Correa who is building quite a reputation in South America.

The forward, who can feature as a striker or in a deeper supporting role, has been compared to City’s current star Aguero with the Citizens keeping tabs before a possible summer move.

The paper reports that scouts were watching the youngster in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night as they step up their interest in the promising attacker.

He could yet follow the same path as ‘Kun’ who originally joined Atletico in May 2006 for a deal worth around £20 million from Independiente. He then moved to the Etihad Stadium in July 2011 for a transfer in the region of £38 million and has been outstanding for the Citizens.

San Lorenzo are thought to want around £10 million for their young starlet, and with interest from Barcelona and Napoli we can expect more talk about this future start before the summer is out.

Do you think the young Argentinean could be the next Aguero? Let us know your thoughts below.
