Manchester City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been left unsettled with news from talkSPORT that the Citizens will face competition from Real Madrid in signing Malaga’s exciting young starlet Isco.
The Spanish international has been strongly rumoured to become Manuel Pellegrini first signing when the current Malaga boss takes over as City manager in the next few months.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder impressed for Malaga this term, helping his side into the knockout stages of the Champions League before a last minute defeat to Borussia Dortmund.
And the La Liga team have serious financial problems that has seen them excluded from next year’s Champions League due to the UEFA Financial Fair Play rules.
He could make the switch to the Bernabeu instead with Madrid president Florentino Perez planning to make Isco the figurehead for the new generation of players at the club.
The interest from Madrid could be enough to persuade the youngster to remain in Spain rather than make the switch to England with the former Premier League champions.
