Sir Alex Ferguson may be retiring along with Paul Scholes but today in the Football Transfer Tavern and The Independent, all talk was about the fact that Wayne Rooney was left out of the squad for the final home game of the season against Swansea City at Old Trafford.
Speculation over the forward’s future was been rife since Fergie left him out of the starting eleven for the second leg against Real Madrid and now it seems that finally it will be resolved this summer.
Given that the relationship between Rooney and his manager has always been somewhat difficult not to mention the fact that David Moyes is set to take over this summer at Old Trafford, a move has seemed on the cards more and more as the summer approaches.
Bayern Munich may have rejected the chance to sign the player but Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are both thought to be interested in luring the forward on a mega deal to join them this summer. United fans once may have thought the departure of Rooney was unthinkable yet given the form of Robin van Persie not to mention the rumoured arrivals of Robert Lewandowski and approach for Radamel Falcao it is not as shocking as it once may have been.
