There is some breaking news in the Football Transfer Tavern this evening as talkSPORT brings some disappointing reports to the bar.
The publication claims hat Tottenham and Manchester United target Alen Halilovic has snubbed interest from the Premier League to sign for Camp Nou giants Barcelona.
The 17-year-old has already won senior international recognition with Croatia and he is likely to be one of the stars at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
Dinamo Zagreb, where the youngster have played 15 league matches this term, have now decided to sell the player, who has been compared to former White Hart Lane favourite and now La Liga star Luka Modric, to Barcelona after agreeing an initial £8 million fee for the midfielder.
The news was confirmed by the starlet who wrote on his Instagram account: “Thanks Dinamo Zagreb for everything!! My first club and biggest love!! Now is time to move on to Barcelona.”
The teenager had reportedly been courted by both United and Spurs who were thought to be preparing offers but Barca have taken the lead to land the hot prospect
He’s likely to start his La Liga career playing in Barcelona’s B team but we don’t think it will be too long before he’ll be starring at the Camp Nou, given his special talent.
We really wanted to see the youngster in the Premier League but are you also left disappointed with this news? Let us know your thoughts below.
