Manchester United fans inside the Football Transfer Tavern are don’t know what to make of the news from the Mirror, that the Red Devils attempted to re-sign former defender Nemanja Vidic in the January transfer window.
Vidic, 33, is regarded as one of the Red Devils’ best defenders ever, after a series of strong performances at the heart of defence for the club.
The Serbian joined Inter Milan on a free transfer last summer and there is speculation that Vidic and Inter boss Roberto Mancini are not getting on.
Vidic’s agent Silvano Martina made the revelation about Manchester United’s interest to Gazzetta TV, saying:
“Will he stay at Inter? I think he should do, yes, because he has another two years on his contract,”
“In fact, I want to reveal something. Last year he made a specific choice to come to Milan, seeing as Manchester United wanted to keep him and kept calling up to December.”
A host of Manchester United fans sitting inside the Transfer Tavern feel that re-signing Vidic would be excellent, but many are sceptical whether he can still play at his optimum level at the age of 33.
