Metro have Manchester United fans running over to the bar to get a refill and hear the gossip today in the Football Transfer Tavern, after news of an £88 million triple swoop reaches our ears, we can understand why.
As one of our punters notes over a beer and burger at the bar, we think that United are in serious need of another revamp this summer and despite spending a fair bit of cash when Louis van Gaal joined the club, there are some pretty big holes that need to be filled – and Raphael Varane, Marquinhos and Memphis Depay would go a long way in doing that.
We are not too sure about a move for PSV Eindhoven winger Depay but our punters are on board with swoops for both Varane and Marquinhos – although there are a growing amount of rumours that suggest Chelsea will swoop for both the Real Madrid defender and Paris Saint Germain centre back to boot – and we think Van Gaal HAS to get in there first.
