It’s another day in the Football Transfer Tavern and yet again we have news of another transfer target for Manchester United in the current transfer window.
The Daily Star take the lead today reporting that United boss is considering a massive £30 million bid in an attempt to land Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking midfielder Lucas Moura.
Moyes was in Paris to watch the impressive 21-year-old during his side’s recent match against Bordeaux as he continues his pan-European scouting tour.
He could now be ready to test the Ligue 1 champions resolve with a £30 million offer with the playmaker viewed as the perfect solution to improve his struggling midfield.
However the question that first springs to mind to us, is why would PSG sell the Brazilian international when they don’t need the money and for one they only paid £35 million for his services last summer?
Moyes’ predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson had an opportunity to sign Moura, who has already won 31 caps, before he signed for the French club but he decided that he wasn’t worth the money they paid.
Moura has only been a relative success with Laurent Blanc’s side and that could United reviving their interest with PSG apparently ready to cut their losses. Despite this, we can’t see this punt coming to fruition anytime soon.
Can you really think United have any chance in this audacious pursuit? Let us know thoughts below.
