The discussion about who Manchester United need to sign is still continuing in the Football Transfer Tavern, which started following their embarrassing Champions League defeat to Olympiakos.
Although the latest name reportedly on David Moyes’ radar has come as something of a surprise to punters in the bar.
Metro suggests that Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon is being eyed up by the under pressure manager as he seeks to rebuild his struggling side at the end of the season.
The former England international has impressed the ex-Everton boss since his days at Goodison Park and that could see the Yorkshire-born midfielder heading to Old Trafford in a surprise switch.
Lennon, who can operate on either wing, is regarded as ‘Mr Inconsistent’ by most Tottenham supporters with good performances combined with displays that lack anything of use.
There is a disagreement in the bar over whether or not Spurs would let the 26-year-old join their Premier League, especially given a tetchy relationship between the two club’s in recent times.
However it’s clear that United desperately require some fresh faces and we suppose that Lennon would be an improvement on their current situation.
We aren’t sure that this rumour won’t go further than tomorrow’s fish and chip paper but what do you think? Let us know your thoughts below.
