Manchester United: Fans delighted as Alexis Sanchez will not play for the Red Devils again

Sanchez

Manchester United have made some bad decisions over the years but signing Alexis Sanchez could perhaps be Ed Woodward’s biggest mistake so far.

United had high expectations for Sanchez after they beat Manchester City to his signature and he arrived at Old Trafford from Arsenal in 2018. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old turned out to be a complete and utter flop.

As it stands, the Chilean has only scored five times in 45 games for the Red Devils, even though he earns staggering wages which are reportedly worth £400,000-a-week. In fairness, he has struggled with multiple injuries and a slump in form, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that he has failed to impress for the Red Devils.

Sanchez has spent the season on loan at Inter Milan under the guidance of former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as he has fallen out of favour with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The club announced earlier this week that they have reached an agreement with Inter for the veteran to finish the remainder of the Serie A season. According to The Athletic, as relayed by @ManUnitedZone_, he will not play for the Red Devils again and will promptly leave the club upon his return to the Theatre of Dreams.

Unsurprisingly, many United fans are delighted by the latest news, with one supporter slamming the player as “rubbish,” while another added “good riddance” and one fan called him “useless”.
