Manchester United: Fans discuss Red Devils plans for Dean Henderson

Manchester United do not intend to recall Dean Henderson from Sheffield United, according to the Daily Mail via the Express

Although the 23-year-old has shined between the sticks for Chris Wilder’s side, the Red Devils will not bring him back to Old Trafford in the summer.

The United academy product has spent the past two seasons on loan at Bramall Lane, helping the Blades get promoted last year, and impressing at the back as the Yorkshire outfit have defied the odds to charge up to the top end of the Premier League this season. Henderson has played in 27 games in the English top flight, keeping 10 clean sheets, and conceding only 22 goals so far. He is valued at £13m via Transfermarkt.

In contrast, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first-choice keeper David de Gea has made 29 appearances for United, saving just 8 clean sheets, and giving up 30 goals up until now (Transfermarkt).

Understandably, many supporters reacted to the transfer news on social media, with one fan dubbing the “future number one” as “magnificent,” and another lamenting the “foolishness” of the decision.
