Manchester United recorded their first away win since March last night when they beat Partizan Belgrade 1-0 in their Europa League group stage clash in Serbia.

Despite picking up three points and keeping a third consecutive clean sheet in Europe, United still only managed five shots in the whole game in Belgrade, 10 fewer than the home team, and just one of those was on target (as per WhoScored).
BBC match reporter Steve Sutcliffe said that the performance was “marginally better than their goalless Group L draw at AZ Alkmaar”, when United did not have a single shot on target, but felt that “there was still very little by way of invention” from Solskjaer’s team.
These Manchester United fans on Twitter were left underwhelmed by their team’s display despite the positive final score:
OLE OUT!
First away win since PSG in March.
This is mediocrity and this team isn’t getting better.
1-0 against a team I didn’t know existed before this draw is a disgrace!
Ole out, so that a better coach can start fixing this team and attracting top players.

An away win that feels like a loss, disgusting performance.

Glad the ref blew the whistle 10 seconds early. Spared us.

Awful game. Hard to watch. Same old story again where we struggle to break down teams that play a low block and like to sit deep. Very very worrying that we can’t score more than 1 goal in a game.

Shocking performance. Ole is not the right man to take us forward. The team isn’t the best but a better manager would be getting better performances out of these. It’s boring and clueless #OleOut

0 footballing IQ, can’t pass, can’t create, no control- 1 shot on target. Poor performance is an understatement!!! Partisan deserved a point. Sad times!!

Woeful performance. The team couldn’t get more than one on target which was the penalty. What if the penalty wasn’t awarded?

1 shot on target. A penalty. If goals were awarded for keeping the ball just outside the box, we’d be champions.
