Manchester United had their own fantastic Boxing Day display in the form of a clinical 4-1 comeback against Newcastle United at Old Trafford, but turning their heads to one of Liverpool’s most important games of the season, Red Devils supporters couldn’t help but be in awe over their dominance at the King Power.
Magpies teenager Matty Longstaff originally gave the visitors a shock lead early in the first half before clinical strikes from Anthony Martial (2), Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford sealed a fantastic response and a potentially great end to 2019.
However, just after their bout, bitter rivals Liverpool travelled to the King Power Stadium and faced off against second-placed Leicester City in a bid to cement their title ambitions.
What followed was a masterclass, with the Anfield side cruising to a 4-0 victory away to one of their closest competitors – resulting in United supporters graciously applauding their brilliance.
