Manchester United: Fans laud Mason Greenwood after goal against Partizan Belgrade

Manchester United fans have been lauding Mason Greenwood after the youngster scored his third goal of the season in the club’s 3-0 win over Partizan Belgrade.

The 18-year-old scored after receiving the ball just outside the six-yard box, after which he turned inside the defender to slot home United’s second of the game (via BBC).

Greenwood has enjoyed a fine individual campaign after being thrust into the first-team when Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku were sold to Internazionale. He’s scored in three of his four starts across the Carabao Cup and Europe’s second-tier competition with all of the goals coming at Old Trafford (via Transfermarkt).

He was highly praised by United legend Paul Scholes, who said he was ready to have a run in the side (BT Sport via The Metro).

Fans were lavishing the England under-21 international with praise as they took to Twitter to react, with some comparing him to former United striker Robin van Persie.
