Manchester United edged past Partizan Belgrade in their Europa League group stage encounter last night, but it was by no means a routine victory for the Red Devils in Serbia.

The hosts troubled United throughout the encounter, creating a host of chances in both halves and struck the post as the scoreline stood at 0-0.
However, a surging run from 19-year-old left-back Brandon Williams saw the teenager brought down in the penalty area, resulting to the visitors being awarded a spot-kick.
The returning Anthony Martial duly obliged and converted the penalty, putting United ahead just two minutes before the break. That was to be the only goal of the contest, however, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men ran out 1-0 winners and now sit top of Group L after three games.
The performance of young defender Brandon Williams was undoubtedly the highlight of the evening. Williams was making just his third appearance of the campaign and performed well, drawing in a fowl after a surging run which resulted in the penalty.
