Manchester United: Fans rave over Red Devils’ official February Goal of the Month

Share

Loads of Manchester United supporters went crazy after Anthony Martial’s sublime effort against Watford was announced as the club’s official Goal of the Month for February.

Martial’s unreal goal started with a deft touch from a deflected shot. The Frenchman deceived the helpless Hornets goalkeeper and befuddled three defenders before curving the ball into the back of the net. You really have to see it to believe it, with one fan claiming Martial’s goal is already the “goal of the season.”

The 24-year-old has racked up 63 goals and 34 assists in 206 appearances for the Red Devils since moving to Old Trafford from Monaco for £36m in 2015 (Transfermarkt).

Both Martial and academy product Marcus Rashford have struggled with injury problems throughout the season, with the club signing Shanghai Shenhua’s Odion Ighalo on a short-term loan in January to cover for the French international’s recent absence (Express).

Martial made his return to the starting line-up in the 1-1 draw against Everton last weekend, having missed the Europa League tie with Belgium side Club Brugge. He started on the bench against Derby County in the FA Cup fifth round (BBC).
