Manchester United: Fans react to James Maddison rumours

James Maddison is steadily emerging as one of the most promising young footballers the Premier League has to offer. Indeed, included in the England squad and a player who created more chances than anyone in the division last season, the midfielder has clearly made an impact at the top level.

The 22-year-old, who joined Leicester from Norwich City last summer, enjoyed a terrific debut in the top-flight last term, scoring seven and assisting seven goals in 36 appearances for the Foxes, per Transfermarkt.

This season alone, Maddison has two assists to his name (Transfermarkt), with his performances for Leicester earning him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad last week.

Unfortunately for Maddison, his wait for a first senior cap goes on after he remained unused in both of the Three Lions’ games against Bulgaria and Kosovo, though there are extremely promising signs that the ex-Coventry City midfielder will have a huge future ahead of him at international level, should he retain this level of performance.

Maddison was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but with the Foxes already selling Harry Maguire to the Red Devils, a move never came to fruition.

It is understood that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still desperate to bring the playmaker to Old Trafford, though, with the Times claiming that the club will make an offer for him next summer.
