Manchester United: Fans react to Joe Cole’s comments on Paul Pogba

Many Manchester United fans are conflicted following the latest comments from former Premier League and England star Joe Cole on the Red Devils’ midfield.

Speaking to BT, as reported by @ManUnitedZone_, Cole said: “None of them [Fred & Mctominay] have the ability of a Paul Pogba but for the way that they play they get the best out of Bruno. He’s United’s best player.”

The midfield is United’s biggest issue, due to the fact they have an abundance of attacking talent. Summer signing Donny van de Beek, Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes all are exceptional players, but it seems like it is impossible to have them all playing together.

This saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently play a midfield of Scott McTominay, Fred and Fernandes – and it worked as they beat Everton 3-1 in fairly dominant fashion.

With such depth in the middle of the pitch, debate is always going to happen on who should start, but these comments from Cole have added more fuel to the fire, saying that the 27 year-old Pogba is the most talented option, but not necessarily the best.

Here is what Man United fans said following Cole’s comments:

This guy single handedly killed his career by moving to the PL imagine a player like Joe Cole having an opinion about you, whilst comparing you to guy from the portugese league.

If matic can get his tired legs to the best, then Pogba can fit in the midfield

This is so spot on https://t.co/fmVQFOjVgo

Ole has to keep it tight to get results and if he doesn’t then he loses his job and if Pogba has to sit on the bench for that then so be it. https://t.co/FtAx3dCEoz

Maybe Ole should play Pogba infront or Scott and Fred. I think Pogba has the capability to produce more Bruno when that happens. We all witnessed it two years ago when Mou was sacked.
