There is a lot going on at Manchester United at the moment as Donny van de Beek seems to be close to joining the side. This has seen current United midfielder Fred linked with a move away from the club and a lot of the Red Devils fan base are reacting to the news.
The 27 year-old Brazilian is attracting interest from abroad – Super Lig side Galatasaray would like to take the player to Turkey on a loan. This news was then tweeted out by utdreportlive, which caused a lot of reaction from the United fans.
His statistics last season were generally impressive as he managed on average 1.4 shots, 2.1 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and 1.4 successful dribbles per game, via WhoScored, which highlights that he was a valuable presence in both a defensive and attacking sense for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
This would suggest he still has something to give for the club, he has managed 73 appearances at Old Trafford, per Transfermarkt, scoring three goals and picking up five assists. But since football returned, he only started once in the Premier League, and for five of the games he remained an unused substitute. Perhaps he might want to play more football, but if United can keep him, he is definitely a very good squad player to have.

One even suggested it would be a “criminal offence” if they sell him and keep Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira instead – the duo both struggled for form last term, netting just two goals in the league between them.

No. He was our best player before lockdown. Players like Pereira, Lingard, Mata need to go before him. Would be really unfair on him

I would prefer he stay but we don’t have time to mull over whether we should sell him, or not. I would sell him and continue to sign players who will upgrade Manchester United. He’s not better than Herrera on a good day, and both are below our true standards in reality.
