Ander Herrera has blamed the board for his Manchester United exit last summer, according to ESPN.
After five years with the Red Devils, Herrera left Old Trafford for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, and said his departure was due to “disagreements” with Ed Woodward.
Speaking to Rob Dawson, the Spaniard insisted he is happy at the Parc des Princes, but revealed he wishes he had stayed at the Theatre of Dreams for longer.
The midfielder told the football correspondent “when I look back a year ago, my intention was not to leave Manchester United.
“I had some different opinions with the board but I respect them. I respect them a lot. They do things for Manchester United and I disagree with the people who say they don’t. They really suffer when things don’t go well and they really fight to bring Manchester United back.”
He concluded “I disagreed with some of the decisions they made but this happens in football. In happens in every company.”
After arriving at United from Athletic Bilbao for £32.4m back in 2014, the 30-year-old went on to make over 180 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 27 assists in all competitions, before joining the French champions as a free agent last year.
The former Spanish international won the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time in England, and picked up his first league title with PSG this season. However, he has played just eight matches in the French top flight for Thomas Tuchel’s side so far, bagging 1 goal and 1 assist up until now (Transfermarkt).
Unsurprisingly, loads of United fans slammed Herrera’s comments, with one supporter labelling him as a “snake” and another calling him a “charlatan.” One fan even added he is “grotesquely overrated.”

Terrible player, ran around in circles, pointing fingers, but achieving nothing. Talked the talk, but it’s all about walking the walk, and he hasn’t got the talent to do that. Fooled the gullible ones with his rhetoric, but bench player at best

LOL. That or PSG offering him a ton of money for 5 years. I liked Herrera but come on, don’t pretend it’s something it’s not.

What’s clueless is people thinking herrera was an integral part of uniteds side, was nothing other than a bit part player with passion and a Hugh work rate.
