Jude Bellingham is still undecided about his future, but Sir Alex Ferguson’s involvement has helped Manchester United’s cause, via Bleacher Report.
Bellingham has caught the eye of numerous suitors after an impressive debut season in the Championship with Birmingham City, but it appears the Red Devils are leading the two-horsed-race ahead of Borussia Dortmund to sign the highly-touted teenager in the summer.
Leading football insider Dean Jones noted “it has been reported that United have competition from Dortmund to sign the 16-year-old midfielder from Birmingham City.”
“No decision has yet been made over which path he wants to take with his career, but Sir Alex Ferguson’s involvement in talks and showing him the club’s training ground has helped United’s cause.”
The 16-year-old has featured in 32 appearances for Pep Clotet’s Blues in the English second tier, scoring 4 goals, creating 2 assists, taking 1.2 shots per game, averaging just under 1 key pass, and completing 1.1 dribbles on average (WhoScored).
Bellingham is currently valued at £9.9m via Transfermarkt and it remains to be seen if Ed Woodward will stump up the funds for the Englishman when dialogue reopens with the youngster’s representatives.
