As far as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is concerned, Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho is his top priority, but Manchester United are eager to sign a new centre-back to partner Harry Maguire at Old Trafford, according to reports.
According to Mundo Deportivo, as cited by Sport Witness per @utdreport, Solskjaer has indicated that Villarreal and Spanish star Pau Torres is the signing he needs to rebuild the Red Devils defence in the summer.
Torres, 23, finds himself on Barcelona’s radar as well after impressing at the Estadio de la Ceramica this season.
The Spain international, who has won one cap for his country so far, scored on his debut in the 7-0 thrashing of Malta in the Euro 2020 qualifiers last year.

El Submarino Amarillo, which translates to the Yellow Submarine in homage to the Beatles song of the same name, are reportedly demanding €65m for Torres, who has been at the club since he was a boy.
While their asking price may look steep at first, it is still some way off what Ed Woodward is willing to pay for Napoli powerhouse Kalidou Koulibaly. Indeed the Spaniard, who stands at 191cm tall, could turn out to be a shrewd signing, as he scored two goals and supplied one assist in La Liga this season, making 1 tackle per game via WhoScored.
Unsurprisingly, lots of United fans waxed lyrical over the “colossus” on social media, with one supporter tweeting he is “top class,” while another added he would be a “fantastic” signing in the summer.
