Manchester United: Jack Grealish ‘number one target’ over James Maddison has supporters gushing

According to a report from the Athletic, Manchester United have made Aston Villa star Jack Grealish their ‘number one‘ priority target despite the midfielder potentially costing £80 million if the Villans avoid relegation.

Grealish, who has starred for the Midlands side this campaign, scoring seven goals and assisting six others from midfield over 24 starts, has been strongly linked with a move to the Red Devils – and this report from the Athletic has only heightened the rumours surrounding his exit.

According to the piece, United would have to pay £80 million to land Grealish if Villa avoid relegation – resulting in supporters jokingly praying they go down to get a cut-price deal on the English star. These fans have also insisted that Grealish be prioritised over Maddison, with stats showcasing exactly why.

Referring to WhoScored.com, the Foxes playmaker, while level with Grealish in terms of shots per game (2.3), fails to match his rate of completed dribbles (2.4) – potentially hinting that United’s better option would be to look towards Grealish instead.

As a result, many Red Devils supporters are praying that their club acquire the 24-year-old – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
