Manchester United: Mario Mandzukic transfer blow has some fans panicking ahead of January

After Romelu Lukaku departed Old Trafford in the summer for Inter Milan, Manchester United have been left somewhat short of forward options ahead of a challenging season – with supporters now panicking over the club’s apparent loss of interest in potential target Mario Mandzukic.

Mandzukic, who has been pushed to the fringes of Juventus since the start of the new campaign, still yet to make an appearance for the Italian champions, is now reportedly off United’s radar in terms of finding forward options over concerns about his fitness.

The 33-year-old scored nine goals and assisted six others over the course of last season, prompting real interest from the Red Devils as a replacement for the departed Lukaku, but it appears he is yet another target who won’t be boosting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s very thin striker department.

Given what is no doubt a blow to the manager’s January transfer plans considering how heavily they were linked with a swoop in the summer, supporters have been left wondering who could be their potential January saviour given the lack of options in the striker role.

One fan is hoping it is Jamie Vardy, demanding the club to throw “Sanchez wages” at the Leicester City man.
