Today’s WAG is the “Queen of Merking”, or should I say Rio Ferdinand’s wife Rebecca Ellison. The pair got married in a lavish ceremony last year in the Caribbean and have been going out for more than seven years.
Rebecca is a private person, shunning the limelight (neither OK or Hello magazine were invited to the wedding) and is unlike other WAG’s as she was an accountant when she met the England captain. As well as helping Rio “merk” unsuspecting footballers and reminding him to turn up for drugs tests, Rebecca looks after their two children, Larenz and Tate.
Rio and Rebecca’s relationship has been rocky, to say the least. Rio’s alleged womanising and cheating with several models and an air hostess called Lauren Alcorn have jeopardised their relationship, but she has forgiven the Manchester United defender.
