Manchester United’s hunt for a new striker is no secret. The current options — Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee — both endured disappointing campaigns at Old Trafford, struggling to live up to their price tags.
Højlund finished the season with just four Premier League goals, while Zirkzee managed only three. For a duo that cost the club over £108 million combined, it’s a worrying return for a side aiming to return to the top of English football.
United have already added Matheus Cunha from Wolves to their ranks — but with the Brazilian more comfortable playing behind the striker, an out-and-out No.9 is still a top priority.
One name repeatedly linked is Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, who netted 37 goals last term. Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres — previously managed by Rúben Amorim — is also on the radar, with Arsenal also circling.
United Get Moise Kean Update
Another target for United is Fiorentina’s Moise Kean.
The former Juventus, PSG and Everton striker enjoyed the best season of his career last term, bagging 25 goals in all competitions for La Viola.
United are said to have been monitoring his situation for several weeks — and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they’ve now learned of a key clause in his contract. Kean reportedly has a £44 million release clause, but it’s only active for the first 15 days of July — putting a ticking clock on any potential move.
The same report claims United are stepping up their interest — but they may not be alone. Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsiah have apparently tabled a monster £83 million offer for the 25-year-old.
Kean is finally entering his prime after several stop-start years, and while a switch to Saudi Arabia may not appeal, money talks. A move to Old Trafford, even in transition, may carry more sporting weight — but as we’ve seen before, stranger things have happened.
