Manchester United battered Brighton with another dominant display following the Premier League restart.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side controlled the game from all angles and are now fifth in the table, two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Mason Greenwood opened the scoring before January signing Bruno Fernandes added the extras.
The teenager increased his tally to 13 goals in this campaign after bamboozling the Brighton defence with clever footwork and drilling a powerful strike into the back of the net (BBC).
According to the BBC, as relayed by @utdreport, Greenwood’s goals are the most by a player aged 18 or younger in a single Premier League season since club legend Wayne Rooney scored 9 goals for Everton in 2003-04.
Although the 18-year-old has largely been limited to substitute appearances so far, he certainly made the most of this opportunity to stake his claim in the starting lineup. Indeed, this was only his sixth Premier League start of the season.
Unsurprisingly, loads of United fans gushed over the “top Red’s” performance, with one supporter suggesting he is “underrated” in reference to his young age, while another added it was a “masterclass.”
