Manchester United: Red Devils fans reflect on Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo’s partnership

Loads of Manchester United fans have been reminiscing over the lethal partnership between Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney after a fan site shared a compilation of their greatest hits together.

The two superstars spent five years together at Old Trafford before Ronaldo moved to La Liga giants Real Madrid for a then-world-record transfer fee of £84.6m (Transfermarkt).

Rooney and Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a coveted Champions League trophy under fellow club legend Sir Alex Ferguson. The former England international made over 500 appearances for United, bagging 253 goals and creating 146 assists (Transfermarkt).

Ronaldo netted 118 goals in 292 games for the Reds. The 35-year-old is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the world, having earned plenty of plaudits throughout the years, including five Ballon d’Or trophies (Transfermarkt).

In their final season together, Rooney and Ronaldo combined for 46 goals across all competitions, winning the Premier League for the third time in a row and making it to the Champions League final (Transfermarkt).

Naturally, plenty of United fans have been drooling over the “mind blowing” footage, with one supporter describing the deadly duo as “totally perfect.”
