Manchester United: Red Devils fans slam James Maddison following latest transfer update

Many Manchester United fans have reacted to the news that the board are leaning towards a move for Jack Grealish over James Maddison, according to a report by The Athletic.

With the transfer window just around the corner, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been associated with a number of high-profile players, and both Englishmen are reportedly at the top of the target list.

After arriving at the King Power Stadium from Norwich City for £22.5m in 2018, Maddison has scored 6 goals and provided 3 assists in the Premier League under Brendan Rodgers this season, and the attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before the start of next season. His current market value is priced at £43.2m via Transfermarkt.

In comparison, despite being a part of Dean Smith’s struggling Aston Villa, his fellow countryman Grealish has still netted 7 goals and produced 6 assists in the English top flight this campaign, taking 2.1 shots per game, averaging 2.7 key passes, and completing 2.2 dribbles on average so far (WhoScored).

Unsurprisingly, loads of Red Devils took to Twitter to slam the “overrated” Leicester City star, with one supporter even calling him a “fraud.” Another branded the claim that the Foxes could demand more than £100m for the 23-year-old as a “stupid valuation.”
