Brandon Williams has signed a new four-year deal with Manchester United, keeping him at Old Trafford until 2024.
Williams has made 33 appearances for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since making his senior debut against Rochdale in the EFL Cup back in September.
The Red Devils have rewarded him with a new contract after the defender enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough season.
According to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, as per @utdreport, he will earn wages worth up to £65,000-a-week, having agreed improved terms with his boyhood club. Man United retain the option to extend the agreement by a further year.
Although the 19-year-old was overlooked for the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, the academy graduate didn’t let this setback deter him, playing five games in the Europa League this season prior to the lockdown, making 1.2 tackles per game, averaging 1.6 interceptions, and completing 1.4 clearances on average (via WhoScored).
The Crumpsall-born prodigy is set to start the rest of the European competition with Luke Shaw absent until the start of next season after picking up an ankle injury.
Valued at £9.9m via Transfermarkt, the England U20 international is surely a cheaper option than Sporting Lisbon defender Nuno Mendes, who Solskjaer has been linked with in recent weeks, as the Portuguese could be at the centre of a bidding war between Ed Woodward and Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, lots of United fans waxed lyrical over the “absolute bargain” on social media, with several supporters declaring the news “brilliant” and “gargantuan.”

This youngster has made great headway on the left and definitely contributed to the 3rd place finish we took. But Woodward and Glaser pay him peanuts.
