Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham will join Borussia Dortmund after rejecting Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the summer, according to Bild.
The highly-touted youngster has burst onto the scene for the Blues this season, bagging 4 goals and creating 3 assists in 32 games in the Championship so far. Bellingham has also won three caps for the England U-17 development squad and scored two goals. His current market value is registered at £10.8m via Transfermarkt.
Unsurprisingly the 16-year-old has caught the attention of numerous European giants and it appears he will be moving to the Signal Iduna Park later this year.
United rolled out the red carpet for the teenager last week by arranging a trip to Carrington, where Bellingham met club legend Sir Alex Ferguson, but this doesn’t seem to have been enough to change his mind (Sky Sports).
The German outlet reports Lucien Favre’s side are believed to have paid a transfer fee of £30m for the centre-midfielder.
Predictably many United fans are fuming at the latest update on social media, with one supporter bemoaning the fact “Fergie can’t even persuade him to come”. This isn’t the first time Dortmund have usurped a transfer bid from the Red Devils as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lost out to the Bundesliga club in a battle for Norwegian striker Erling Haaland last year.
