Metro have Manchester United fans looking up from their pints here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
They claim that that veteran defender Rio Ferdinand could well be on his way out of Old Trafford.
The defender has been linked with a move away from the club this summer after his contract expires and as one of our punters notes over their Sunday dinner, we had even heard rumours that Rio was set to retire and take up a position with BT Sport as a pundit.
Clearly he would rather fancy another couple of years playing and a two-year deal with LA Galaxy looks set to be on the table for the former England skipper.
Ferdinand has multiple interests outside of the game and our punters note that retiring would probably not hit him as hard as many.
Ferdinand is not the only player who is on his way out of the club, with the futures of fellow defenders Nemanja Vidic and also Patrice Evra coming under question as well.
Our punters move back towards the pool table and continue their conversation, claiming that David Moyes seems to be trying to rebuild the side, and getting rid of the old stars could well be the first step.
