The Daily Mirror has Manchester United fans looking up here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication have claimed that Rio Ferdinand does not know if he will be included in the plans of Louis van Gaal next season.
The reports did however add one thing – the defender will not leave the club unless he is pushed – but will remain playing football for as long as he can.
Ferdinand spoke ahead of the end of the season and claimed: “I’m fit, healthy and I want to continue playing.
“I’ve spoken to a lot of mates in the game and they all say the same thing – keep playing for as long as you can.
“The club at the moment is in a position where they can’t really make any decisions about anything. For me to be saying, ‘I want to do this or that’ is irrelevant.
“We’ve got to see who becomes the new manager and boxes will be ticked from there. I don’t know if whether the new manager will help me (stay at United), I just want the best solution for the club.”
Do you think the best solution for the club is to keep Rio especially now Vidic will be leaving? Let us know your thoughts below.
