The Football Transfer Tavern is intrigued by the latest reports from talkSPORT as the publication indicates that Manchester United could let Javier Hernandez join Inter Milan with Mateo Kovacic joining the Old Trafford outfit in an exchange deal this summer.

It is well-known in the tavern that the Serie A big spenders, who have already secured Nemanja Vidic from United, are considering a summer swoop for the Mexican international.

Hernandez has struggled for game time under new boss David Moyes with just seven Premier League starts under his belt this term.

According to today’s speculation, the San Siro are hopeful of minimising the cash outlay buy including another player as part of the transfer.

One player who United have been reportedly keeping tabs on is Inter’s 19-year-olf Croatian midfielder, who only joined the Serie A giants in 2013.

Kovacic has played only a small role in Walter Mazzarri’s fifth-placed side and the club could let him leave in the summer.

It was reported earlier this week that Moyes will let his 25-year-old striker depart in the summer after the forward grew tired of playing a reduced substitute role with the Red Devils.
