Manchester United: Fans delighted by ‘amazing’ Jadon Sancho transfer update

Manchester United are increasingly confident of completing a deal for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that Sancho is the signing he needs to rebuild the Red Devils’ squad. According to Sky Sports, as per @utdreport, talks between the two clubs are ongoing and it is understood that personal terms will not be an issue.

Dortmund are demanding €120m (£109m) for the England international, although Man United will not meet their valuation.

The 20-year-old was the Bundesliga club’s top scorer last season, having scored 20 goals and supplied 18 assists (via WhoScored).

Solskjaer’s side have not made a bid for the attacking midfielder as it stands, even though United are the only club to make official contact with Dortmund over a possible move. His chances of bringing Sancho to Old Trafford have been boosted by the fact that they have qualified for the Champions League.

However, if Ed Woodward fails to sign Solskjaer’s top target in the summer, that won’t go down well with the Norwegian, as he missed out on signing Erling Braut Haaland from RB Salzburg last year, who ended up at the Signal Iduna Park instead.

The executive vice-chairman is under a lot of pressure to avoid a recurrence of missing out on a primary transfer target again as, a few years ago, he couldn’t sign Cesc Fabregas or Gareth Bale and had to resort to signing Marouane Fellaini in the end.

Naturally, many United fans gushed over the “good news” on social media, with several supporters urging the board to “get it done” at all costs. One fan called it “amazing” as the club have been chasing Sancho for three years now.
