Barcelona are reportedly considering signing Diogo Dalot from Manchester United this summer, reports claim.

According to Mundo Deportivo, as cited by The Daily Mail, the 26-time La Liga champions are ready to 'renew their interest' in the Red Devils defender.

For one reason or another, it has never quite worked out for Dalot at Old Trafford. Man United beat the Catalans to his signature in 2018 but the move hasn't paid off as planned and he has been something of a flop.

Dalot, 21, started one game in the Premier League this season, making just eleven appearances in all competitions so far.

Recent reports suggested Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced he will come good at the Theatre of Dreams, although he now appears to have changed his mind.

Old Trafford is braced for a huge summer clear out as Solskjaer aims to raise cash as quickly as he possibly can to boost transfer funds in anticipation of a busy window.

The Norwegian knows he has a difficult task on his hands as he looks to get rid of the dead wood in the summer.

However, the Spanish giants are set to give Dalot a lifeline as they are 'confident' of completing a £10m deal for him with Ed Woodward.

It is unlikely Solskjaer will want to get in the way of the Portugal U21 international if he wants to leave, as he last featured for the Red Devils in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Norwich, before being replaced by Brandon Williams in the second half.

United had high hopes for Dalot when he first joined but he has fallen down the requirements.
