Manchester United: Fans slam contract offer for Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Many Manchester United fans have been slamming a contract offer made to Timothy Fosu-Mensah by the Old Trafford faithful.

As per Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep the Netherlands international the club as he digs into the last seven months of his current deal.

Various teams have apparently expressed an interest in signing him and he would be free to negotiate a pre-contract deal with sides from overseas in the January transfer window ahead of potentially leaving at the end of the 2020/21 term.

However, several Red Devils have expressed their anger over wanting to give Fosu-Mensah a new contract given that he has only played in 29 senior games in all competitions over four separate seasons for Man United (Transfermarkt).

With the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka thriving and Diogo Dalot returning from his loan spell at AC Milan, perhaps the versatile right-back will just see his game time limited once more.

Manchester United fan reaction to Fosu-Mensah deal

These Man Utd supporters slammed the news of Fosu-Mensah being offered a new contract on Twitter, with one MUFC fan even claiming that it was ‘preposterous’:

He is the worst player apart from James in the squad. He is very negative 95% of his passes are backwards which is rediculous for a LB. Why give deadwood new contracts Phil Jones case example.

This is why we’re going nowhere.
Keeping players like these.
Rubbish manager keeping bang average players.
Yet our fans think he’s been hard done by.
Took him long enough to realise Lingard wasn’t good enough.

Imagine begging TFM to stay, this is shocking. Rewarding mediocrity with bumper contracts is now the culture at United. TFM has never been good enough to play for United and he shall never be.
