Although previously Manchester City have been highly reluctant to sell any of their players to their Premiership rivals, this may soon come to an end. According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur have now made enquiries about the availability of Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor had a successful spell on loan last season at Real Madrid, and he has been quoted as saying “if (he) could play three or four years in Madrid and (he) would retire with the club”. However, Los Blancos are believed to have other targets, with Jose Mourinho favouring Porto striker Radamel Falcao, and in which case, a deal for Adebayor would hinge upon them not signing their preferred man. Spurs though are thought to have offered to loan Adebayor for the season, with an option to buy should he perform well for them.
The question is, should Mancini be selling or even loaning players to potential rivals?
Tottenham’s front line last season was pretty woeful and as this window progresses they seem very slow out the blocks to find better men. Adebayor wouldn’t warm the all the cockles in N17, but he has to be an improvement on Defoe and Crouch who only managed to scrape together a handful of goals between them last term.

If Defoe stays fit him and VDV can take us to the top. They showed that against Arsenal and JD showed for England before he got injured how dangerous he can be with Rooney playing in behind him. Another striker would be fantastic but he has to replace PSB not JD.

Defore scored 4 league goals makes all keepers look world class that has nothing to do with missing games. He has only ever scored more than 11 prem league goals twice in his whole life. He is cack
Look I don’t care for Adebayor, but gone are the days of loyalty and club for life mentality.
Take away the fact he played for Le Ar5e, he is a good player. Temperamental yes, but great in the air and a handful for the opposition.
Bottom line is we need a striker who can score. In the breath we need to also purge the squad. It is redundate to have players earning top dollar and sitting on the bench. The likes of Keane, Hutton, Bassong, Bentley, Dos Santos, and Jenas have to go before other come in. New players worsen the value of old.
I am fed up with reading Spurs forwards were woeful. They mostly only played with one up, usually Crouch. Difficult to score from the bench for the guys that are more likely to score.
