The Tottenham Hotspur fans here in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping to bounce back after their crushing semi-final defeat at the hands of Manchester United last week, with a win against Watford tonight.

Tottenham’s upturn in form this calendar year has seen them move above Chelsea in the Premier League into the much coveted Champions League spots. Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to pick his team up for the win today against mid-table Watford, in a bid to keep the gap between them and the Blues.

Spurs drew against the promoted side Brighton last time out and suffered their first league defeat of 2018 against Man City the week before.

With the reliable Harry Kane on the scoresheet against Brighton, if Pochettino wants to be back in among the big boys again next season our regulars know that he is key to achieving that.

However, not everything is rosy with Spurs at the moment with them now not winning in three matches and, it seems the rocky boat from the beginning of the season may be spearing its head around the corner once again.

The ‘keeper was a surprise inclusion on Saturday and a gamble that didn’t pay off for Pochettino. Many in the bar believe that he should have done better for Herrera’s winning strike and looking back it was perhaps a mistake not to play Hugo Lloris in such a big game.

A return for the Frenchman should be on the cards this week and one that our regulars will welcome with open arms, however, they will be hoping that Lloris can himself rediscover his form too.
