Last season a lot of youngsters were given a chance at The Emirates and one of the ones who really impressed was young Konstantinos Mavropanos. The Greek centre-back stood up to the challenge in the games he was played in and other than his dismissal away at Leicester, the youngster looked more than good enough for Arsenal.

Arsenal paid a fee of just under £2 million to bring Mavropanos to The Emirates in January, prising him away from PAS Giannina. Arsene Wenger is the man who signed him, however, Unai Emery can be the man who makes him and it would no surprise to see the 20-year-old given his chance alongside either Shkodran Mustafi or Sokratis in the Arsenal backline.
Mavropanos is one of a number of young centre-backs at The Emirates. Emery also has the likes of Rob Holding and Calum Chambers in his ranks and between the three of them, it looks like the Arsenal defence will be comfortable for years to come. This season will be interesting as Emery is yet to work out his best eleven and the fans don’t know who their new gaffer will favour when the season begins in just under three weeks time.

Hell of a future for Mavropanos as long as he’s worked well into the team.

There is so much emphasis on Dinos during pre-season that I am beginning to believe he will be a starting CB for the opening PL games.

The fans are clearly excited to see Mavropanos in action next season and it will be interesting to see if he starts on the opening weekend against Manchester City.
