Middlesbrough and Leeds United both go into the international break with 14 points to their names following the 0-0 draw at Elland Road between the top two Championship sides.
And, while Middlesbrough will be disappointed with the fact that they were not able to take all three points away from the game, manager Tony Pulis will be pleased that his team were able to keep their opponents out.
Under Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds had started the season in free-scoring form, registering two goals or more against Stoke City, Derby County, Rotherham, Swansea City and Norwich City.
However, Bielsa’s men hit a brick wall versus Middlesbrough with the Teesside club putting in a solid defensive performance as expected.
£2.7m-rated (via Transfermarkt) midfielder Adam Clayton, in particular, put in a tireless display and will no doubt play a big part in Middlesbrough’s push for promotion back to the Premier League.
