Middlesbrough fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are beyond excitement as the club are about to trump all of their summer business and are interested in bringing a Zidane to the Premier League.
However, it’s not Zinedine, it’s actually his son Enzo, who plays for the Real Madrid B team.
Boro manager and former Real Madrid coach, Aitor Karanka has expressed an interest in bringing the midfielder to the Riverside for their upcoming Premier League season.
The Premier League new boys have been extremely busy so far in the transfer market this summer, bringing in eight players already.
The likes of Alvaro Negredo, Brad Guzan and Marten de Roon are just some of the names that will feature for the Boro this season and the arrival of the promising Frenchman would only serve to improve matters further.
The 21-year-old made 38 appearances for the Real Madrid Castilla team last season, impressing in an attacking midfield role where he also netted twice.
One slight downside about the move may be that Enzo prefers to wear his mothers name on the back of his shirt, Fernandez, which could disappoint some Boro supporters who would have liked to see the famous name grace their jerseys.
