‘Miss this kid’ – Tottenham fans react on Twitter to club’s injury update

The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s latest update on Harry Winks’ injury situation. The club took to Twitter and posted that Winks is still undergoing rehabilitation on an ankle injury that has kept him out throughout 2018. The classy midfielder’s last appearance for the club came as a substitute in the 5-2 win over Southampton on Boxing Day.

Harry Winks has endeared himself to the Spurs fans who have been propping our bar up as his ability to pick a pass and calmness on the ball have improved his stock at the North London club. Winks has also been capped once by Gareth Southgate and if he can get some games behind him before the end of the season, he could be a late inclusion into the World Cup squad for Russia in the summer.

Our local Lilywhites, whilst they’ll be keen to get Winks back into the fold, won’t want to rush the 22-year-old’s return. Since his breakthrough into the first eleven last season and scored his first Tottenham goal in the incredible 3-2 comeback victory over West Ham at White Hart Lane that saw Harry Kane net twice in injury time to give Spurs all three points. At such a young age, Winks is no doubt set to write his name in Spurs history books when he can get some consistent game time behind him, although for now he’ll be focusing in his injury return and getting back out on the pitch.

Taking that into account, here’s our local Spurs fans’ reaction to Winks’ injury update:
