Leeds United’s season is threatening to unravel in front of the eyes of the supporters here in the Tavern and there’s genuine thought that things could shut-down at Elland Road, over the coming weeks under Garry Monk.

The Whites have been booted out of the play-off places by the impressive-looking Fulham and there’s real pressure on the shoulders of Monk to get maximum points from Leeds’ remaining fixtures if they’ve got any chance of regaining their top-six place.

They’ve been in and amongst the frontrunners all season and our barman thinks it would be a real shame for all that hard work to go to waste after a poor end to the season, and he’s absolutely right.

But against Burton, Monk absolutely must get the team selection right.

And after the defeat to Wolves, it’s clear he’s got to change it up just a little bit to make sure things are fresh, but not too different for the crunch tie against the Brewers.

So with that in mind, Monk needs to field this Leeds attack in the starting XI against Burton on Saturday…

RW: Kemar Roofe

Kemar Roofe has been in and out of the Leeds XI this season and there’s fans here in the Tavern that still aren’t too sold on the former Oxford attacker.

But he looked Leeds’ brightest attacking threat against Wolves and was unlucky not to score, a looping header being cleared off the line.

CAM: Pablo Hernandez

Pablo Hernandez has been blowing hot and cold over the past few weeks but he remains a massive part of this Leeds United side and when he plays well, they look a superb outfit.

If he can just find his best form going into the Burton game and the other remaining matches this season, there’s no reason why Leeds’ play-off ambitions can’t remain in their own hands.

LW: Hadi Sacko

Alfonso Pedraza has been preferred over the past couple of weeks but with the Spaniard struggling to make a telling impact, we think throwing the lively Hadi Sacko back into the mix wouldn’t be a bad shout for the game against Burton.

This is a Brewers team that has struggled all season and they should be there for the taking.

Sacko should relish the chance to run at a defence that has been nervy all campaign.

ST: Chris Wood

He’s the man of the people here in the Tavern and there’s absolutely no doubting that Chris Wood will start the game against Burton, and try to get the goals needed to drag his side back into the top-six.

He’s been the best striker in the division this season and if he can score a couple of goals against the Brewers, the side should get their confidence back.
