Jose Mourinho’s Man United have had a mixed start to life in the Premier League this season, with the Red Devils fans here in the Transfer Tavern divided on the start they’ve made.

The Man United supporting punters here in the Tavern are still so delighted with the club’s summer transfer business though, which saw the club bring in the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Though, world-record signing Paul Pogba has certainly not made the start he would have hoped for since re-joining the Premier League giants, after a string of pretty mediocre performances.

Naturally, the United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking ahead to the upcoming transfer window in January, and are debating players they should bring to Old Trafford, to enhance the squad that bit more.

Our landlord has decided to look closely at African players that Mourinho should target in the January window, obviously, the African Cup Of Nations is on during the window, but that doesn’t mean clubs can’t sign players from that continent.

Here are TWO African stars that Man United should consider signing in January…..

Aymen Abdennour

The 27-year-old centre-back would be a superb back-up option for Man United.

The Valencia defender is strong in the tackle, adept in the air and is superb at intercepting the play and breaking forward.

Our punters in the Tavern would love to see the defender at Manchester United in January, not necessarily a starter, but certainly a player to call upon if there is injuries.

Yacine Brahimi

Though Mourinho has a wealth of attacking options available to him at Old Trafford, Porto’s Yacine Brahimi could be a good option. 

A hugely skilful winger, he was hugely impressive against Chelsea in the Champions League last season, during the Special One’s stint with the Blues. 

At just 26 years of age, the Algerian could well be a sight to behold on United’s wings.
