The former Chelsea manager isn’t one to change his mind once he has made a call over a player, however, given the wealth of talent on offer within the ranks at Old Trafford and their Carrington training complex, and the club’s record with players such as Marcus Rashford breaking through, it’s certainly something the Portuguese should consider.

Luke Shaw
The Englishman’s toxic relationship with Mourinho provided interesting headlines last season, yet if the pair can put their differences aside, Mourinho could unearth one of the most promising left-backs in world football.
Having joined United from Southampton for a whopping fee of £30M, Shaw was preordained for greatness. The 21-year-old made 67 league appearances for the Saints in which he excelled, his pace and dribbling were there for all to behold.
Injuries have unquestionably stagnated his growth at United, yet his disagreements with Mourinho have severely affected his progression.
The full-back only made nine starts in the league last season, which is wasteful for a player that manifests such ability and exhibits enormous potential. As of late, United have struggled to establish a starting left-back, rotating between Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian – Luke Shaw could provide United with the long-term solution that they so desperately crave.
If Mourinho entrusts Shaw with starting eleven responsibilities in the new season, then United could re-establish his status as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
