Manchester United are prepared to let Anderson and Nani leave Old Trafford for £15 million each as they look to recover the £45 million they have spent this summer.
Tottenham are thought to be interested in Anderson with Andre Villas-Boas seeing the Brazilian as a good replacement for Luka Modric. AVB is also reportedly interested Nani who could be heading for an exit after a break down in talks over a new contract.
After a summer of lavish spending the Glazers have asked Sir Alex Ferguson to cut his squad and Anderson is considered surplus too requirements. Meanwhile United feel that Nani is failing to justify his wage demands with his performances on the pitch which has alerted Spurs.
Having lost Luka Modric, securing the services of a quality, creative midfielder is Villas-Boas’ top priority. Joao Moutinho and Willian have both been sounded out as replacements, with Shakhtar Donetsk rejecting a bid for the Brazilian. Admittedly Anderson does have the advantage of being used to the Premier League, but both targets, particularly Moutinho, appear much better options.
Since his arrival for £18 million in 2007, Anderson has failed to deliver on his early promise. That is not to say he is a bad player but he has not shown the kind of form that would convince Villas-Boas to pay £15 million for him.
Unlike his team mate, Nani is an entirely different prospect. The Portuguese winger did not perform to his high standards at the end of last season and was dropped for Saturday’s game against Fulham after a poor performance against Everton. However, there is no doubting his ability and at 25 would be a great signing for Spurs.
Unfortunately the numbers don’t add up. United will not let him leave for £15 million and Ferguson would rightly demand more for his Portuguese star. Also, you would expect that the United boss will hope Nani gets back to his best and that a new contract can be negotiated sooner rather than later.
Despite the signing of Emmanuel Adebayor, AVB would still wish to add to him striking options. Should he find a replacement for Modric it seems much more plausible that he would use any remaining money to sign another striker rather than a winger.
The sale of Luka Modric has understandably seen Tottenham linked with a number of midfield targets but it is hard to imagine that this latest rumour is nothing more than paper talk.

Anderson is about as creative as Benny from Crossroads…..he left to get a spanner and didn’t return for 15 years.
Methinks these are naughty rumours put around by northern journos to generate interest in players that Fergie has lost patience with. If Spurs have made inquiries, they are clearly of the “if everything else fails” variety. Another words they are on Spurs C list, no more than that.

What an absolute load of garbage! To say and I quote ‘Tottenham are thought to be interested in Anderson with Andre Villas-Boas seeing the Brazilian as a good replacement for Luka Modric.’ is a ridiculous statement firstly because man u where interested in signing modric themselves because they have no one creative to play in the centre of their midfield and secondly I don’t see real Madrid or the like chasing after Anderson! If he where that good man u would be doing all they could to keep him! Personally I think the only players that spurs have been linked with that would go anywhere near filling modrics boots would be dembele or moutiniho with moutiniho being IMHO the better option but dembele probably the more realistic!
It does say that it was nothing more than newspapers creating rumours and that Moutinho would be a better option than Anderson.
