The West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to comments from French left-back Patrice Evra. The Champions League winner had his Monday Instagram video shared by West Ham, via their website, and the fans aren’t impressed as the club face a difficult battle to stay in the Premier League.

The legendary French left-back joined the club to bring some much-needed experience to the squad although he’s currently banned from playing after kicking a fan whilst warming up in a game for Marseille last season. Even when he’s available, the 36-year-old will struggle to break into the West Ham squad as Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku have held down the left-back role between them at The London Stadium.
The club currently find themselves in a relegation battle as they sit just two points above the relegation zone in 17th. Two months ago the club looked to be safe from relegation, although they’ve lost three consecutive games by a three-goal margin, putting their Premier League status under pressure with just eight games remaining. The atmosphere at the London Stadium turned toxic in the club’s last game against Burnley as they fell to a 3-0 defeat, but the game was marred by a number of pitch invasions as the fans protested against their club’s co0owners, David Sullivan, David Gold and Karen Brady.
Here’s what our resident Hammers’ made of Evra’s recent comments:

So all those talking about “club is in relegation zone” and things, I mean just because the club is going thru tough times means there can’t be any reason to have fun? Come on! Take it easy guys. #Chill
