Newcastle fans on Twitter love one of their own Paul Dummett

Newcastle fans have a special affiliation with those that come through the club’s youth academy and into the first team and Paul Dummett is one of those. The Welsh left-back is the nailed on number one in his position at St James Park and with yesterday being his 27th birthday the fans were keen to show how much they love the defender.

Paul Dummett understands what it means to play for Newcastle and whenever he plays he always manages to make the fans smile. His ability to influence the game at both ends of the pitch from left-back has forced the Geordies to admire his work and whenever he’s not playing you can see that both the team and the fans miss having him bombing down the left flank.

Newcastle are suffering a little bit at the moment. They’ve lost four and drawn two of their six opening matches and you can see the discontent amongst the fans. However, Dummett and co at St James Park will be keen to get their first three points of the season when they face Leicester City this weekend and if Dummett can grab a goal on the club’s way to getting their first league win of the season then it will be smiles all round for The Magpies.
